Antiga residência do Cel. Francisco de Mattos Brito (1864-1948), conhecido por “Coronel Chichiu”, que também empresta o nome a esta rua, onde viveu na companhia da esposa Adelaide Queiroz e seus treze filhos: Cléa, Arcelino, Elsa, Antônio, Maria Adelaide, Jorge, Alice, Áurea, Nestor, Nilda, Lúcia, Cira e Zélia. Filho do português Antônio de Mattos Brito e de Izabel Maria de Jesus Queiroz, proprietários do Sítio Brejo, Chichiu destacou-se como um dos maiores cafeicultores da região, sendo o pioneiro na divulgação da técnica de sombreamento dos cafezais como alternativa de recuperação da baixa produtividade no início do século XX, além de pecuarista e produtor de algodão nos sertões de Quixadá. Foi prefeito de Guaramiranga e implantou a primeira hidrelétrica da Serra de Baturité, e terceira do Ceará, em 1918.

Former residence of Colonel Francisco de Mattos Brito (1864-1948), known as "Colonel Chichiu", who also lends his name to this street, where he lived with his wife Adelaide Queiroz and their thirteen children: Cléa, Arcelino, Elsa, Antônio, Maria Adelaide, Jorge, Alice, Áurea, Nestor, Nilda, Lúcia, Cira and Zélia. Son of the Portuguese Antônio de Mattos Brito and Izabel Maria de Jesus Queiroz, owners of Sítio Brejo, Chichiu stood out as one of the largest coffee growers in the region, being the pioneer in spreading the technique of shading the coffee trees as an alternative to recover the low productivity in the beginning of the 20th century, besides being a cattle breeder and cotton grower in the backlands of Quixadá. He was mayor of Guaramiranga and built the first hydroelectric dam in Serra de Baturité, the third in Ceará, in 1918.
