RUÍNAS DO SOBRADO DO DADÁ

Neste local existiu um imponente prédio assobradado, construído entre 1878 e 1880, propriedade do Coronel Baltazar Lopes de Lima, conhecido como Cel. Dadá, e de sua famosa esposa Dona Libânia Holanda, residentes no Sítio Uruguaiana. A ampla edificação tinha por objetivo abrigar um colégio dirigido pelo renomado educador Anacleto de Queiroz. Em 1910, nele foi inaugurado o Ginásio Guaramiranga, pelo professor Júlio César de Holanda, formado na Europa. Serviu de espaço para bailes, reuniões, cinema, teatro e residência, até passar à Arquidiocese de Fortaleza que confiou às Irmãs Capuchinhas que nele instalassem o Colégio do Coração de Jesus, ativo entre 1929 e 1962, ampliado à uma nova estrutura edificada, onde hoje funciona a Escola Júlio Holanda. Depois, em ruínas, o velho sobrado foi ingratamente demolido.

In this place there used to be an imposing semi-detached building, built between 1878 and 1880, owned by Colonel Baltazar Lopes de Lima, known as Colonel Dadá, and his famous wife Dona Libânia Holanda, residents of Sítio Uruguaiana. The large building had the objective of housing a school directed by the renowned educator Anacleto de Queiroz. In 1910, the Guaramiranga Gymnasium was inaugurated there, by teacher Júlio César de Holanda, who had graduated in Europe. It served as space for balls, meetings, cinema, theater and residence, until passing to the Archdiocese of Fortaleza that entrusted the Capuchin Sisters to install in it the Colégio do Coração de Jesus, active between 1929 and 1962, expanded to a new built structure, where today works the Júlio Holanda School. Later, in ruins, the old house was ungratefully demolished.
