CAPELA DE NOSSO SENHOR DO BONFIM

Construída no período de 1870 a 1874 por força da iniciativa de habitantes do arraial de Pernambuquinho, então importante entreposto comercial entre a serra e o sertão. A comissão edificadora do templo em honra ao Senhor do Bonfim foi dirigida pelos cidadãos Francisco Cordeiro da Cruz, Francisco Barbosa Lima, Carlos Antônio de Souza, Antônio Alves Cavalcante, José Floriano de Vasconcelos, Francisco Duarte de Queiroz Jucá e os irmãos Ildefonso, Joaquim e Vicente Bezerra Lira. Teve como primeiro capelão o Pe. José Raimundo Batista, primo do célebre Pe. Cícero Romão Batista. Padre Batista construiu o belo sobrado (atual “Solar dos Chaves”) onde residiu e chegou a dirigir um colégio. O padroeiro é celebrado no dia 14 de setembro.
